Indian Students Begin Clinical Training During MBBS in Russia
The Amur Regional Clinical Hospital has begun the first practical training for first-year foreign students. The heads of the practice are the head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Iraida Georgievna Menshikova, Associate Professor of the Department, Candidate of Medical Sciences Elena Vladimirovna Magalyas.
The hospital administration held an organizational meeting for students, at which the students were informed about the procedure for internship. A mandatory safety briefing was also held. Students were assigned to departments by the chief nurse. First-year Russian-speaking first-year students will help first-year students from India overcome the language barrier.
"In order to effectively adapt international students to the clinical environment, a mentoring system has been organized. At the moment, the process of support and professional orientation in the departments is carried out by Russian-speaking classmates, who are assigned to the corresponding groups of students. In the near future, second-year students will also join this work in the departments to provide full assistance to medical personnel. All students have already begun to perform their duties," said Maxim Gorevoy, a student of group 219.
Students from India note the differences between the second practice and the one they had at the beginning of the year.
— Clinical practice in the first semester lasted about 15 days, and in the second semester it was already 30 days. We monitor operations, transport patients, measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and also give patients medicines to make them feel better," said first-year student Raj Rohit.
